Google To Acquire Valve?
The Inquirer says the deal will happen any minute, but they're wrong.
The Inquirer is reporting that Google plans to acquire Half-Life publisher Valve. The reasoning behind the move? Steam, Valve's excellent content distribution system, would be a feather in nearly any internet concern's cap.
We've already seen Google dip their toe into gaming waters with the launch of their Lively MMOG, but this, should rumors turn out to be true, is a big, big deal -- as big as Microsoft getting into the game. What's next, a Google console?
UPDATE: Kotaku spoke to Doug Lombardi of Valve this morning, who dismissed these reports as mere rumors. Ho0ray for real journalism.
